On the eve of the Days of Culture of Byelorussia in Karelia Sergey Katanandov has met active members of the society of the national autonomy of Byelorussians
On October, 16-18, the Days of Culture of Byelorussia will take place in Karelia. It is reciprocal visit of the delegation of fraternal people to Karelia: exactly one year ago, in October, the representative delegation of actors, businessmen, politicians, heads of bodies of the government of Karelia has visited Minsk where meetings with representatives of legislative and executive authorities, with industrialists were held, the concerts of creative collectives were of tremendous success.
The delegation of the brotherly state included the minister of culture of Byelorussia Leonid Guliako, heads of the creative unions, higher educational institutions, 115 actors from ensemble "Pesniary", the state academic orchestra, the national ensemble songs "Tsernitsa", soloists of the National opera. Concerts of visitors will be held both on scenic plots of Petrozavodsk, and also in the city of Kondopoga and in Priazhinsky region. If the weather allows and Onega Lake does not storm, the visitors will go to see the Kizhi island, the Kivatch falls and vicinities of sanatorium "Martial waters" founded by Peter I.
On the eve of the Days of Culture of Byelorussia in Karelia the Head of the Government of the RK Sergey Katanandov has met active members of the society of the national autonomy of Byelorussians in the northern republic. Representatives of the community have shown their activity and proposed to participate in preparation of the meeting of the guests. Under their initiative the meeting with the Byelorussian delegation in the Center of National Cultures of the Republic of Karelia is planned. Members of the community have emphasized that Karelia today is on the fifth place in Russia among regions on number of Byelorussians living here: 55 thousand persons that makes 7 percents of the population.
Sergey Katanandov has noted, that feature of Karelia is that "the family of fraternal people of republic lives amicably" and that the Government will try to do the utmost for preservation of "this main wealth of our mutual relation". He has emphasized, that there has been signed the agreement between Byelorussia and Karelia, and a number of economic projects are under implementation. "The Slavic traditions are the most close to us, - Sergey Katanandov has told, - and we make no secret of the fact that we want the Slavic peoples to unite".
