PETROZAVODK. /Correspondents of SPB-TASS Igor Veksler and Vladimir Zlobin/. The second All-Russian festival of national culture has opened on Saturday in Petrozavodsk. It is dated for the 300th anniversary of Saint Petersburg, a 300-anniversary of Petrozavodsk and the 1100th anniversary of Pskov.
Actors from many regions of Russia have taken part in the concert program of the festival on the stage of National theatre of Karelia on the opening day. Among them there are Pyatnitsky chorus, Igor Moiseev's dance ensemble, actors from Adygea, Kalmykia, and Chukotka.
The festival will last till September, 6. Within this period of time more than 50 leading professional musical and dancing collectives representing folk art of all subjects of the federation will take part in the concerts. Within the framework of the holiday about 500
open-air and regular performances in concert halls in all large cities from Kaliningrad region up to the Far East will be held. The festival of national culture will be finished by the great final concert in Saint Petersburg.
