Russian and Finnis experts in the field of water supply and water purification have gathered in Petrozavodsk

NA REGNUM, October 14. Problems of municipal services reforming of Karelia became the theme of the Russian - Finnish seminar opened on October 14, in the sanatoria and hotel complex Belye Kluchi in the surburb of Petrozavodsk, NA REGNUM correspondent informs.

Experts in water supply and water purification from two countries have gathered in the capital of the republic. This meeting was organized by Petrozavodsk State University and University of Oulu (Finland). Within three days participants of the seminar will discuss problems of drinking water quality, construction of wells and drainage systems in the countryside, prospects of use of underground waters for industrial and drinking water supply in the settlements of the republic, and consider concrete projects.

As the Vice-Rector of Petrozavodsk State University for Innovational Activity Renat Ayukayev has noted in his conversation with NA REGNUM correspondent, many technologies of water supply and drainage applied now in Finland were developed in the Soviet Union, however, in our country they have preferred expensive though inefficient constructions. "Finns can not offer us anything technologically new, while we can learn from them culture of production," - the Vice-Rector has told.
