Petrozavodskmash is completing fulfilment of the order from Taneco, Inc., for the newly constructed oil refining complex in Nizhnekamsk.
The atmospheric column which weighs almost 300 tons, and measures up to 55 meters long became not only the largest equipment for Taneco produced by Karelian machine engineers. Production so dimensional has not been delivered from Petrozavodskmash since Soviet times. The second column of the project, also as well as the first, will be delivered to Tatarstan across Onego lake and the Volga-Baltic Route through the rivers of Volga and Kama. From the port in Nizhnekamsk to the construction platform it will be transported by the road specially laid for Taneco's cargoes.
- Machine engineers of Russia have received only 4 orders for these columns, - the director general of Petrozavodskmash joint-stock company Leonid Beluga emphasizes importance of the project. - Our enterprise is both one of the contractors, and is the first in the long chain of equipment deliveries for the oil refining complex. Once again, with performance of this order we have confirmed high status of Karelian mechanical engineering in Russia and in Europe.
Most of the work within the Taneco project is already performed. We have shipped two of three columns. After the assembly the 'smallest' one 45-ton stripping column will be railed to the customer.
The columns made by our enterprise within the contract with Taneco are intended for the primary oil refining factory. They will be mounted in the beginning of the next year, and by the end of year - to start producing output to be used both in Russia, and abroad.
