International conference of countries participating in the Council of the Barents Euro-Arctic Region (CBER) and European Union (EU) concerning cooperation in the field of higher professional education has opened on November 18 in Petrozavodsk State University.
Rector of PetrSU Professor A.Voronin, the first Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the RK D.Bazegsky, Vice-Chairlady of the Legislative Assembly of the RK G.Razbivnaya, the main specialist expert of the department of bilateral cooperation of Ddirectorate of the Federal Agency for Education S.Bogomolov greeted the participants and guests of the conference with words of welcome.
The main objective of the conference is activization of cooperation between universities and other scientific and educational institutes of the Barents Euro-Arctic Region within the framework of basic trends of Bologna process.
Within the scope of plenary and breakup group sessions of the conference issues of cooperation between the EU, Nordic Council of Ministers and Russia in sphere of higher education, policy and practice of international cooperation in a view of Bologna agreements, development and support of academic mobility of scientific and educational organizations of the BEAR, joint project activity and creation of joint curriculums within the scope of Tempus European programs and European neighbourhood and partnership instrument by scientific and educational organizations of the BEAR, as well as theoretical and practical use of remote educational technologies in the network of BEAR universities were considered.
Expansion and strengthening of partner relations between scientific and educational institutes of countries participating in CBER, as ell as development of new cross-border projects within the framework of existing cross-border networks with use of the new European neighbourhood and partnership instrument (ENPI Kolarctic and Karelia) were declared expected results of the conference.
