– Many pilgrims and tourists come to Solovki through Kem and Byelomorsk. To make the archipelago more attractive for them and their travelling more comfortable we intend to develop the hotel network and road infrastructure in our republic. It is also necessary to build a good road from Kola federal highway to Kem, – Head of Karelia has pointed out.

Last July the Government of Arkhangelsk Region had adopted the state program of the Solovetsky Archipelago development for 2014-2019. As representatives of the Government of Arkhangelsk Region have told at the conference, organizational framework for efficient recovering of Solovki is already built.

At development of the Solovetsky Archipelago our neighbours would like to use Karelia's experience in restoration of Valaam. Thus, in order to provide continuity of electric power supply of Solovki it is necessary to lay the underwater cable from the continent. Such project had been implemented in Valaam and it had proven to be efficient.
