Tourism Development Project Accomplished on the Funds of Eurounion in the Republic of Karelia, Murmansk and Archangelsk oblasts
PETROZAVODSK, March 30. /The ITAR-TASS corr. Vladimir Zlobin/. A new TACIS project / technical assistance for the countries of the former USSR /, aimed to the tourism development in the Russian part of Barents-Euroarctic region started functioning in the Republic of Karelia.
The project costs 1,1 mln EURO, and it covers the Republic of Karelia, Murmansk and Archangelsk oblasts. The accomplishment of the project will allow the western tourists to learn more of the northern-western Russian culture.
Tourist agencies of the republic, Petrozavodsk State University, the Karelian Research Center RAS participate in the project. The colleagues from Finland, Belgium, Great Britain will be their partners.
The funds will go to new tourist center constructions, service development, staff training. The project designed for two years.
