Portrait of an Indian with a Tomahawk Serves as a Visiting Card of American Art in Petrozavodsk

PETROZAVODSK, April 4 /The ITAR-TASS corr. Vladimir Zlobin/. A portrait of an Indian with a tomahawk attracted special attention of American artists exhibition visitors, held in Petrozavodsk. The author of the lithography is Frits Sholder, one of the most famous draughtsmen of the USA.

At the exhibition named "Tamarind's Prints" were presented 40 lithographies by 22 best American draughtsmen. The works were created in a famous studio Tamarind, named after an Indian tree.

Paul Smith, the USA General Consul in St. Petersburg, informed that the exhibition had been travelling all over the world for many years, and everywhere it was a great success.

Northern Dimension Summit Held in Luxemburg

Brussels, April 4. /The ITAR-TASS corr. Alexander Mineev/. The summit on the issues of Northern Dimension of European Union will be held in Luxemburg on Monday. Ann Lind, the Head of MFA of Sweden, will be chairing at the summit. The heads of all foreign affairs departments of 15 countries of the union, representatives of the northern European countries /Russia, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuvenia, Estonia, Poland, Norway/, Xavier Solana, the General Secretary of the EU Council, delegations from Canada and the USA will participate in the summit.

The participants will sum up the Northern Dimension cooperation accomplishments, achieved last year. A special final report will be presented for the EU summit held in Goetheborg in June. Last updated: 5 April 2001
