On November 11-12 Petrozavodsk hosted the Youth Business in the Sphere of Tourism: Northwest of Russia, Countries of Northern Europe and the Baltic States international seminar. The event was organized by the Petrozavodsk Contact Center of the Nordic Council of Ministers in St.-Petersburg and the State Committee of the Republic of Karelia on Youth. Head of the department of analysis and organization of hotel and tourist activity of the Federal Tourism Agency of the Russian Federation Andrey Tiutiunnik participated in work of the seminar.
Cooperation in the field of small and medium business is one of the spheres of work of the Nordic Council of Ministers. Opening the seminar, head of the contact center of the Council in Petrozavodsk Pavel Petrov, has told that on its results organizers hope to receive interesting offers, new innovative ideas on youth business development.
The State Committee of the RK on Youth Chairman Maxim Mazurovsky noted, thar the next year in Russia is announced the Year of Youth. Before this event the committee has developed the departmental youth program of the republic for the period from 2009 to 2011. Special attention there is paid to development of youth business and tourism. The Committee Chairman has emphasized importance of occurrence of as many as possible business-projects in Karelia, public and private organizations developing this sphere, including with western partners, first of all, with the countries of Scandinavia.
Next July the State Committee of the RK on Youth together with the Ministry of Sports, Tourism and Youth Policy of the Russian Federation plans carrying out of a large district educational scout camp. Within its framework there will be created a youth business development section.
Participants of the seminar had group sessions. On first matters concerned modern condition and prospects of development of youth travel in the Northwest of Russia, Countries of Northern Europe and the Baltic States. The second session was devoted to the educational program in the sphere of tourism, and the third - to examples of successful activity and international projects in the sphere of youth travel. Participants of the seminar have discussed new ideas of cooperation and development of joint project offers.
On the second day participants of the seminar, having divided into three groups, have visited various tourist objects of Karelia - the youth visit-center to the settlement of Luchevoye-1, Plyazh (Beach) recreation center and The Three Bears zoological complex.
