On Sunday, May, 30 Archbishop Manuil of Petrozavodsk and Karelia performed the Great Consecration of the Church of St. Panteleimon, the Great Martyr and Healer, in Drevlyanka city district.
The ruling bishop has pointed out that dedication of the church is a great joy for the townspeople of Petrozavodsk who have been waiting long for this event. He has thanked all the builders and donators who were raising or helping to raise the House of God.
Minister on National Politics and Relations with Religious Associations of the RK Andrey Manin has addressed to the congregation. Having congratulated the believers on this significant day, he has read out the complimentary address of the Head of the Republic of Karelia.
"Orthodox believers of Drevlyanka district of the capital have received a remarkable gift for the 90th anniversary of the republic, — Sergey Katanandov's address says. — Today we are present at the closing phase of the birth of the church when the bells on a belfry have woken up, and the doors opened wide for the Great Consecration and for the parishioners for whom it will become the second home."
It is expected that on June, 4 His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia will come to the Church of St. Panteleimon within the framework of his visit to Karelia.
