The Economy of Karelia: Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow exhibition opened in Petrozavodsk on June 8. The main visitors of the exposition were Victor Zubkov, First Deputy Prime Minister of Russia, who came to the capital of Karelia specially for celebrating the 90th anniversary of the republic, Head of the Republic of Karelia Sergey Katanandov, members of the Federation Council Ralif Safin and Vladimir Feodorov, Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the RK Alexander Pereplesnin, mayor of Petrozavodsk Nikolay Levin and official establishment of the republic.

The Economy of Karelia: Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow exhibition organized by the Ministry of Economic Development of the republic specially for the 90th anniversary of Karelia, was already ranked the most scale exhibition project in the region. It is no coincidence: about 120 exhibitors, as a matter of fact, representing all the economy of the region take part in it.

Economic progress of Karelia, its industry, enterprises of towns and regions, travel opportunities, investment and innovation projects were spread before the eyes of the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of Russia.

Victor Zubkov has taken an interest in the project of industrial tourism on the mussels-breeding center at the White Sea, the project of revival of small hydroelectric power station, the Kalevala Wood-Working Enterprise project. By the way, it is one of the largest investment projects in the Russian branch producing wood boards to be realized in the industrial zone of Petrozavodsk within the next few years.

The fact that Karelia is not only a beauty of its nature and rich history, but also the land of high technologies was pointed out by the Counsellor to the Administration for Informatization of Petrozavodsk State University Natalya Ruzanova. She has told the First Deputy Prime Minister of Russia what unique information products are created at Petrozavodsk university. Head of Karelia, in turn, has added that during the celebration of the anniversary of the republic in the capital of the republic there will open IT-park of Petrozavodsk State University .

However, the most solemn and significant event during the visit of distinguished guests was Victor Zubkov's and Sergey Katanandov's participation in the ceremony of special cancellation of a stamp and an envelope issued in honour of the 90th anniversary of Karelia. Now these stamps and envelopes, in circulation of 100,000 copies, will spread all over the country and abroad and for a long time will remind of the anniversary of the republic.

The Economy of Karelia: Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow exhibition will work in the Kaleidoscope center on Warkaus quay, 12 up to June, 10.
