The Visit of the Minister of the Ways of Transportations to the Republic of Karelia.

In October the Minister of the Ways of Transportations of Russia Nickolay Aksenenko visited Petrozavodsk. In the course of negotiations with the Head of the Government of the Republic of Karelia they signed the agreement about the interaction between the Ministry of the Ways of Transportations of Russia and the Government of Karelia. It was directed to the improvement of transportation service in our region and the maintaining of the stable work of Petrozavodsk department of October Railway.

The agreement provides for the joint work of both Ministry and the Government of Karelia on interbeneficial base for the funding of electrification the railroad sections from the Idel station through Medvezhegorsk station, from the Byelomorsk station through the Svir station and creation of the working group to solve the problem of completion of the construction of the railroad Ledmosero-Kochkoma.Annualy the Government of Karela will schedule in the budget of the Republic the compensation of the loss of the local passenger transportation, provide for the reduced prices of the electropower for the trains for Federal railroad transportation. The Ministry of Railway transportations of Russia is due to coordinate the orders for the passenger car repairing with A.S "Avangard".

In his speech on the ceremony of the sign of the agreement Sergey Katanandov highlighted the fact that the increase of load transportations and preserving the number of jobs are the main priorities of the Government of the Republic in the branch of the railroad transportations.
