Construction of a fish feed production plant is being completed in Berezovka
The Head of Karelia Artur Parfenchikov checked readiness for the new production site opening.
The company “Akva Fid” is completing construction of a high-tech plant for production of extruded fish feed. It will become part of the fish industry cluster, which Karelian trout breeder Nikolai Fedorenko is creating.
In Berezovka, where the production site is located, equipment is currently being commissioned. During a working visit to the Kondopozhsky District, the Head of Karelia checked the plant readiness for opening.
- The scale is impressive, we see a practically finished enterprise. There has never been anything like this in Karelia! The plant is at the world standards level, and fully automated, - noted Artur Parfenchikov. - In fact, we are building a new industry in Karelia. The plant will fully meet the needs of our fish farmers. This will reduce the cost of production. I am very thankful to Nikolai Vladimirovich, our flagship of the industry.
As the plant director Anastasia Fedorenko said, production is planned to be launched in March. More than 100 jobs will be created here, the personnel are currently being recruited. The investor also restored the railway line that led to the old production site.
- It is the first modern plant in Russia for production of feed for fish of all ages. The maximum capacity is up to 50 thousand tons per year. At the start, we plan to produce 700 tons of products per month. The main task is to meet the needs of the local fish farmers. In the future, the plant can also produce feed for domestic animals, - noted Igor Limonov, Deputy General Director of the OOO “Akva Fid”.
Grain has already been delivered to the plant; the special storage facilities have been set up for its storage.
- The feed recipe is selected so that the products are of the highest quality. The feed contains wheat, fish meal and fish oil, including our own production, vegetable oils and other natural components, - said Nikolai Fedorenko.
The company “Akva Fid” is a recipient of comprehensive support from the Government of Karelia. The transformer substation was reconstructed and a new power line was laid at the expense of the regional budget. In August 2023, the company received the status of a resident of the territory of advanced social and economic development “Kondopoga”.
